Léon Suys, the architect of the Brussels stock exchange, drew the plans for the most authentic thermal baths in the world. In 1868, Les Bains de Spa opened its doors to a royal and eclectic clientele. This impressive temple is literally the mother of all spas the world over, and has since made it to the Unesco heritage list.
Following a historical and architectural study, the project of restoring Les Bains de Spa has been awarded to Denys, in close cooperation with Foremost, SumProject and architects B. Van der Wee.
A meticulous and respectful restoration together with a sustainable extension will return this monument to its former glory for an exclusive public. The opening of the Hôtel Les Bains de Spa is planned for summer 2024.
